　　消息人士透露，小男孩长期和父亲在此地流浪，估计是与当地的流浪“地头蛇”产生矛盾，以致引来杀身之祸。目前，警方已立案调查。
　　治安亭中另一名张姓男子称，当天深夜，他们都听见附近传出一声惊叫，他怀疑就是男孩遇害时发出的，但之后就再没有声响，所以他们也没再去留意发生了什么事。张先生说，从现场情况看来，估计小男孩是被人用刀具之类的利器所伤致命。“被子和竹席上都有血迹，我想可能是男孩被刀猛刺要害后失血过多，凶手可真是残忍。”

　　老温说，“小男孩大约8岁，身高大概1.2米,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]，但却长得肥胖，肚腩十分大，走起路来让人发笑。他的脑后还留起一串小辫子，我曾经问过他是哪里人，他用粤语说自己是广东中山人，不过姓名和年龄他都没有提及过。”而据老温介绍，小男孩和两名亲人一起在这里露宿，其中一名四五十岁的男子，男孩管他叫“老豆”，应该是他父亲，另外还有一名长者，男孩叫他”阿公”。

　　据街坊介绍，小男孩一家三口一直在桥江边活动，以捡垃圾和捞鱼为生，就连露宿的地方都有饭锅和碗筷等生活用品。“他们平时就这样过日子，饿了就生火吃饭，困了则倒头就睡。”街坊张先生说，“小男孩还特别喜欢玩，我经常看到他走到沙面的珠江堤岸游泳玩水，也在那洗澡。”

　　据治安亭值班员透露，小男孩估计是在凌晨两点后遇害。“我们平时是三班倒轮岗，凌晨两点钟我还经过小男孩露宿的地方，看到他好好的，但后来情况就不知道了。”该值班人员说，一直到清晨，有清洁工人来这里打扫的时候，才发现小男孩已经死亡多时，赶紧报警。
